The Massacre of Lertone, Second Era, Year 121
A human uprising gone very much astray, Lertone is one of the greatest evils committed against the men of Alscium by the elves. It started with a tavern brawl between a rather drunken elvish captain and a human bartender. Their conflict spread quickly, as humans, fed up with the abuses of the elves, grabbed whatever weapons were nearby and took to the streets in a tide of violence and flaring hatreds. The mob, only about fifty or so, found their way through the streets to the nearby evlish barracks. In their anger, they lit the building on fire, slaying all that were unlucky enough to be caught whilst still in their beds. That was the final straw in the eyes of the elvish governor. He had every male between the ages of eighteen and twenty-five rounded up and slaughtered, many who were not participants in the brawl at all, on the fields outside the city. Nearly three-hundred humans were slain to make an example that day, and the rivers than run through the city are said to have run red with blood. Now, the cry of 'For Lertone!' echoes across every battlefield where the humans and the elves meet in combat.
